What will your typical day look like?
- Design and build end-to-end applications across modern front-end technologies such as React/Next.js and TypeScript and back-end services using Python/FastAPI or comparable frameworks.
- Translate Audit & Assurance processes into well-designed digital solutions, using the right combination of software, automation and AI to improve efficiency, quality and user experience.
- Build automation that eliminates repetitive and manual work, from Python-based utilities and data-processing scripts to APIs, scheduled jobs, event-driven services and more complex workflow orchestration.
- Develop AI-powered application features using large language models, including information extraction, summarization, generation, structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and conversational experiences.
- Design agentic capabilities where greater autonomy is valuable, including tool/function calling, multi-step execution, state management, human-in-the-loop checkpoints and integration with enterprise systems.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to determine when a problem is best solved with conventional software, deterministic automation, generative AI, agentic AI, or a combination of approaches.
- Design and maintain APIs, data models and integrations across relational and NoSQL data stores and enterprise platforms.
- Build reliable production systems with appropriate testing, evaluation, monitoring, guardrails, error handling and fallback mechanisms — particularly where AI introduces non-deterministic behavior.
- Engineer for security, privacy, performance and scalability, including authentication, authorization, secure data handling and auditable system interactions.
- Own engineering practices across testing, CI/CD, documentation and code quality; lead architecture and design reviews and mentor developers across the team.
About the team
AIDA (AI, Data & Analytics) builds technology solutions that transform how Audit & Assurance work gets done. We combine modern software engineering, AI, and automation to create tools that simplify complex processes, reduce manual effort, and enable teams to work more efficiently and effectively. Our solutions range from purpose-built applications and workflow automation to generative and agentic AI experiences that integrate with enterprise data and systems. We are looking for a senior technical leader who can turn business problems into scalable, secure and intuitive products — and help set up the engineering foundation for how we build them.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone with these required skills, experience & qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of designing and operating production applications and setting the technical bar for other engineers.
- Strong full-stack engineering foundation, with hands-on experience building modern web applications using technologies such as React/Next.js and TypeScript on the front end and Python/FastAPI, Node.js, .NET or comparable technologies on the back end.
- Strong Python development skills and experience using code to automate business processes, manipulate data, integrate systems and eliminate repetitive manual activities.
- Experience designing APIs, integrations and distributed applications, with a solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience building generative AI applications in production, including LLM APIs, prompt and context engineering, structured outputs, RAG and the practical challenges of model quality, latency, cost and non-determinism.
- Experience building agentic AI capabilities that extend generative AI applications with tools, actions and multi-step execution, and an understanding of when agentic approaches add value versus unnecessary complexity.
- Experience implementing appropriate evaluation, testing, guardrails, retries, fallbacks and human oversight for AI-powered functionality.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP), containers and modern CI/CD practices.
- Strong engineering judgment and the ability to choose pragmatic solutions rather than defaulting to AI when conventional software or automation is the better approach.
- A clear communicator and collaborative technical leader who can work with business stakeholders, product teams and engineers to turn ambiguous requirements into maintainable solutions.
It would be great for you to have some of these additional qualities as well:
- Experience with AI application frameworks and orchestration technologies such as LangChain/LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen or similar.
- Hands-on experience with vector databases, enterprise search, embeddings and advanced RAG patterns.
- Familiarity with tool/function calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI evaluation and observability tooling.
- Experience building reusable automation frameworks, internal developer platforms or shared application components.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and cloud-native application architecture.
- Fluency with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar.
- Exposure to responsible AI, data governance, security and compliance requirements in enterprise environments.
- Experience building technology solutions for Audit & Assurance, finance, accounting or other regulated business processes.
