Summary
Join Deloitte’s dynamic team as a Software Developer specializing in Capital Markets and Trade Surveillance on a 1-year fixed term employment basis. In this role, you will design and implement configurable, data-driven systems that process order lifecycle events and support robust trade surveillance across asset classes. Leveraging your deep expertise in venue data management, lifecycle event tracking, and capital markets products (FI, FX, Rates, Commodities, Equities), you will play a key role in architecting automated workflows, integrating complex data sources, and ensuring regulatory compliance. With over 10 years of compliance transformation and implementation experience, you will contribute to high-impact projects that support our clients’ regulatory, audit, and control requirements in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.
What will your typical day look like?
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines using tools such as Informatica, Talend, Databricks, or SSIS for efficient data integration and transformation.
- Develop scalable applications and data pipelines leveraging Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to support analytics and real-time surveillance.
- Implement and test automated workflows for trading venue onboarding, maintenance, and offboarding, ensuring auditability and compliance with regulatory frameworks (SEC, FINRA, MIFID, CSA, OSFI).
- Support the integration of trading venue, asset, and product data frameworks (CDM standards), and enable seamless trade data sourcing and lifecycle management.
- Work closely with platform SMEs to configure and enhance Trading Hub platforms, leveraging complex mathematical models for surveillance solutions across asset classes.
- Drive the deployment of application features using DevOps tools, ensuring reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of surveillance platforms.
- Conduct gap analysis, support control inventory, and enable actionable insights through data-driven alerting mechanisms.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone with:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Compliance Transformation Implementation, Trade Surveillance, and Capital Markets technology.
- Strong expertise in venue data management, lifecycle event tracking, and capital market products (FI, FX, Rates, Commodities, Equities), with deep knowledge of trading desks and execution models.
- Demonstrated ability to architect repeatable, automated workflows and systematic processes for trade data and venue integration.
- Proficiency in Java (enterprise-grade application development), Python (automation, analytics), and SQL (data querying and transformation).
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Databricks, SSIS), distributed file systems (HDFS), and modern data platforms (Snowflake, Dremio, Data Mesh).
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), DevOps practices, and backend integration (MQ, Kafka, REST APIs).
- A track record of supporting auditability, controls, gap analysis, and regulatory compliance in financial environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $155,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
