What will your typical day look like?

 

You will provide actuarial audit and business advisory/consulting services to clients in the Life & Health insurance industry, mainly corporations, insurance companies and regulatory organizations. Your work will span different aspects and will focus on actuarial services and other topics related to insurance advisory services. You will assist audit teams in assessing, managing and controlling risks. You will also assist clients in preparing various actuarial valuations, estimates, reports and analyses, as necessary. Mandates could include reviewing and calculating actuarial liabilities; testing or implementing various models (valuation, capital, etc.); working on a variety of topical insurance or financial services-related projects (e.g., implementing IFRS 17, actuarial modernization, capital modelling, etc.)

Deloitte Canada employs 60 actuarial professionals providing a range of consulting and audit services to clients in Canada and internationally. Our Canadian Actuarial, Rewards and Analytics (ARA) team is part of Deloitte’s worldwide actuarial network, which includes over 1,500 actuarial professionals working in 43 countries. ARA is part of Deloitte’s Assurance & Advisory practice, which provides a range of services including auditing and consulting services.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

You are someone with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree specializing in actuarial sciences and three to five years of relevant experience;
  • In the process of taking examinations for the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries to obtain the title of Fellow;
  • Ability to summarize quantitative analyses and to relay this information to others;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (French and English);
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet search tools, AXIS, etc.).
