What will your typical day look like?

 

As a Senior Consultant, you will be a core member of our integrated, multi-disciplinary teams (designers, strategists, and technologists), providing actionable insight at every step as we tackle our clients’ most complex challenges. If you are passionate about using the power of good research to reframe fuzzy and multi-faceted client problems, keep reading.  

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Own substantive elements of your team’s research agenda by planning and executing research activities and selecting suitable methodologies to explore customer / user and business needs   
  • Develop compelling insights by synthesizing complex qualitative and quantitative data and communicate them in ways that make clear their implications and spur innovation  
  • Work with your team to apply actionable insight throughout the design process, including concept and business model design, and launching and scaling solutions in-market  
  • Support the design and facilitation of engaging workshops with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders  
  • Synthesize key trends, sourced data, and insight from Deloitte’s global network of industry and domain experts, to amplify the impact of your team’s work  
  • Apply your knowledge across industries and at multiple levels of ambition  
  • Contribute to the development of client pitches and intellectual property with research into trends in industries and in the fields of social science, innovation, and human-centered design

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate these characteristics: 

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience conducting research (e.g., design research, UX research, or market research) in a business context (agency or consultancy experience preferred) 
  • Degree in a human science such as: sociology, anthropology, psychology, or another insights-related field, with methodological focus on qualitative research. Bonus for familiarity with quantitative methods. 
  • A passion for learning and a natural curiosity about humans and what they do, complemented by a theoretical grounding in human behavior 
  • Comfortable with typical qualitative methods (e.g., experience conducting interviews and ethnographic observations), ethical considerations, and project management 
  • Ability to distill qualitative insights into design recommendations, to tell stories about those recommendations in ways designers can use, but based on traditional qualitative analytical rigor 
  • The ability to work in dynamic conditions, and transition quickly between collaborative and individual work 
  • Compelling written and spoken communication skills 
  • Strong planning, organization and documentation skills 
  • An interest in diverse perspectives and approaches, and the ability to quickly dive into a new domain or process 
  • A collaborative nature, drawing motivation from effective teamwork 
  • The practiced ability to link the design process and its outcomes to the larger strategy of the organization, linking the design work to other streams of work, and to the overall organizational model / business case 
  • Possess Enhanced Reliability security clearance with the Government of Canada (or be eligible to apply)
