What will your typical day look like?


Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance & Accounting Manager is accountable for:
 

  • Leading period end, tax year end, and fiscal year end close processes, while continuing to improve quality control and drive process improvements
  • Preparing executive presentations which provide valuable forward-looking insights, trends, and recommendations to enable decision making for senior leadership
  • Building relationships with cross-functional teams (Finance, Talent, IT) to assess current state of the processes, assist in the design of future state framework, and implement process improvements driving savings or improved quality on controls
  • Leading a high performing, motivated and diligent accounting team capable of delivering efficient and effective financial accounting processes
  • Supporting finance leadership in implementing a continuous improvement program aimed at identifying root causes and actioning mitigating plans
     

About the team


You will be part of the Controllership team, which oversees all aspects of financial accounting at Deloitte. This is a dynamic group of highly motivated individuals focused on continuous learning and growth, added-value analysis and driving efficiencies through process improvements and automation.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you


You are someone who has:
 

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA), with a degree in accounting or business/commerce with accounting specialization
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in audit and/or accounting & reporting roles for mid to large size organizations, managing at team of 2 or more
  • Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for numbers and accuracy on reviews, and the ability to convey complex information and bridge the gap between financial results and business trends
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence other finance teams, while providing expert knowledge, advice and/or guidance 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities with little direction in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in SAP, or similar sized ERP system
  • Experience with cloud based automated financial reconciliation solutions, such as Blackline, is an asset
