We are looking for sharp minds to join our growing team, offering you the opportunity to provide strategic value to our clients.

What will your typical day look like?

The successful candidate will oversee research, analytical, writing and project management support to the Deloitte Economic Advisory team for client reports, proposals and various other projects and initiatives. More specifically, this position will support a wide portfolio of exciting engagements in economic development, land use economics, destination development, workforce development, global trade and investment, and strategic planning. Main responsibilities include the following:

  • Find, process and analyze trends in knowledge-based industry sectors and report on the impacts on local, regional and national economic potential
  • Present statistical results graphically and explain analysis and trends clearly for a non-technical audience
  • Be the face of our projects through qualitative research activities such as focus groups, interviews with community and business leaders, and presentations
  • Summarize and synthesize findings into “so what” discoveries that create clear and deliberate insights to clients that go beyond the obvious
  • Communicating comfortably with clients and sub-consultants
  • Project management including anticipating client expectations and organizing team members to be working ahead of delivery timelines

  • Excellent understanding of local, regional and other levels of government related to several of our business lines: economic development, workforce development, land economics, destination development and investment/trade
  • Outstanding analytical, writing and communication capabilities and attention to detail
  • Experience working with Canada’s Indigenous communities and understanding specialty data sets that apply will be an asset

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment under tight timelines
  • Undergraduate degree in an area that is related to one or more of our core areas of service delivery as described above; relevant additional degrees and certificates will be an asset

  • Curiosity, passion and tenacity with the goal of making the world a better place, one community and client at a time

A cover letter that includes your motivations in applying and your salary expectations is a mandatory part of your application (please include in a PDF with your resume). It will display your writing abilities and give you an opportunity to tell us why you are passionate about helping our clients thrive in an ever-changing world.
