The financial engineering and financial instruments valuation team is part of the Financial Advisory group. We provide clients with financial strategy advisory services related to financial risk management. The team supports a large number of financial institutions in the design and validation of financial models, the valuation and development of pricing and analysis tools for complex financial products, and the development of specialized financial solutions.

As a Senior Consultant in the financial engineering team you will:

  • Design and implement risk models (credit, market and liquidity)  based on best market practices;
  • Validate risk quantification models and propose recommendations to improve them;
  • Carry out various financial analyses, including derivatives valuations;
  • Cultivate relationships with a prestigious clientele;
  • Carry out mandates with the three lines of defense of financial institutions (front, Risk & Audit);
  • Specialize in financial risk management and establish your reputation as a business advisor;
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the practice.

The successful candidate will have the following:


  • A PhD or master’s degree in mathematical finance, financial engineering, or other relevant postgraduate degree*;
  • FRM, PRM or CFA is an asset, but not required;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience, particularly in risk management; 
  • Commitment to professional and client service excellence;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills;
  • Potential for project problem diagnosis, solutions development, client communications, facilitation of decision-making, documentation, management of client expectations, and team leadership.


Knowledge and skills:


  • In-depth Knowledge of Basel III risk management requirements (ICAAP, Stress testing, living wills…);
  • Knowledge of quantitative modeling of financial markets;
  • Programming competency with MATLAB, VBA and SAS;
  • Proficiency with database tools and excellent analytical skills;
  • Knowledge of FINCAD and Bloomberg/Reuters is an asset;
  • Strong team player;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage several projects at once.
