Experience MyFlex and an agile work environment where work is what you do not where you do it

Are you looking for an opportunity to join a buy-side M&A team where you will work in a challenging, fast-paced environment with senior leaders in the firm? Read more below!

What will your typical day look like?

A career in the Corporate Development Office will offer you the opportunity to be part of a team of seven, which has closed on average one transaction every 2 to 3 months. You would be challenged to continuously learn and grow, working as part of a collaborative cross-Canadian transaction team.

Your role would include sourcing & evaluating potential targets based on strategic and financial analysis, assessment of their risk and valuation, negotiations with owners, as well as execution and oversight of due diligence. You would also work directly with our integration team to plan integrations and monitor transaction success post-close.

About the team

The Corporate Development Office (CDO) leads Deloitte’s acquisitions, ventures, alliances and strategic partnerships within Canada. The CDO has executed over 40 transactions in the last five years, generating significant growth and strategic value to the firm. Transactions have been undertaken in a wide variety of interesting areas such as cyber-security, specialized legal services, analytics, data, artificial intelligence, and cloud accounting to name but a few. Our team is one that operates highly collaboratively, yet there is significant autonomy and individual leadership required due to the nature of being a small team across multiple cities.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You are someone with;

  • A Bachelor of Commerce or similar degree; CBV, CPA and/or CFA designation would be an asset
  • 1 to 3 years of full time experience, including ideally at least one year in M&A, investment, or investment analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French and/or Spanish is a bonus
  • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel and financial modeling along with proven analytical, problem solving and presentation skills
  • Great attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize, execute and operate under tight timelines
