What will your typical day look like?

As a Manager in our Accounting and Reporting Advisory group you will be part of an established team located in Montreal and you will contribute to the planning and execution of a wide variety of accounting and reporting advisory projects and, if you like, have the opportunity to develop an expertise in particular topic areas that interest you. You will be serving clients the National Capital Region and Quebec markets as well as supporting local office teams and clients around the country. You will contribute to market and eminence initiatives, including development of new service offerings and marketing campaigns within the practice; develop and lead timely communications - both internal and external - relevant to our professionals and clients as well as develop materials for and participate in the delivery of presentations to clients and firm personnel.

  • Lead the planning and execution of projects primarily associated with Blackline and Workiva implementation
  • Manage a small team (2-4) to facilitate the technology implementation with clients, and/or provide post-selection Technology services related to Solution Implementation
  • Review client deliverables prepared by staff and develop staff skillsets related to Technical Knowledge, Communication skills, Leadership and Project Management
  • Opportunities may arise to serve clients and/or support local office teams around the country and/or internationally
  • Keep current on new software functionality and its proper use
  • Contribute to market and eminence initiatives, including development of new service offerings and marketing campaigns within the practice
  • Utilize enterprise systems to design solutions that streamline client’s financial process and improve efficiency

About the team

The Accounting and Reporting Advisory group is rapidly expanding in the current environment. Joining our team will provide you with opportunities to develop and hone skills, expand your internal and external networks and be a key member in the growth of our practice. 

This established practice will continue to serve as the core Accounting Advisory “center of excellence”. Those joining the team will focus on Complex Accounting & Transaction Expertise and Accounting Standards Implementation Services focusing on three primary industry sectors including financial services, software and the public sector. We are looking for professionals willing to learn and who have had some experience with IFRS, US GAAP, ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Entities), and PSAS (Public Sector Accounting Standards). 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with: 

  • A CPA, CA designation or equivalency with 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a professional services or firm setting 
  • Strong audit & advisory technical skills (GAAP, securities and regulatory perspectives) and solid knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting standards 
  • Capacity to think critically about issues from a strategic perspective (options available, pros / cons of different options, proposed solution) and aptitude in researching accounting standards and related interpretive guidance 
  • Effective consensus building, conflict resolution, and team-building skills, including being a role model for others and imparting knowledge and experience to junior team members 
  • A sense of entrepreneurship and desire the contribute to the expansion of the practice 
  • Experience in project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership – i.e.  the ability to “find it” and “fix it”. 
  •  Stong communication in both French and English
