Summary
As a Product Owner in Deloitte’s Operate Services, you will play a key role in managing and prioritizing the product backlog, collaborating closely with stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of value through agile methodologies. You will act as a mentor and coach to other Product Owners, supporting their development and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. This is a 1-year fixed term employment opportunity.
What will your typical day look like?
Managing the Product Backlog:
- Clearly define elements of the product backlog, establish objectives, and ensure periodic updates and production of progress indicators.
- Liaise with other Product Owners and Project Managers across the organization to ensure portfolio consistency.
- Create a scalable and prioritized list of needs and features to be developed, with clear and concise descriptions.
- Articulate the product’s vision and objectives to guide the team in the realization of deliverables.
- Write requirements in the form of user stories, accompanied by precise criteria to validate completion.
- Track product progress using metrics such as velocity, value delivered, and customer feedback, and adjust priorities accordingly.
- Provide regular communications to stakeholders on product status, adjustments, and decisions.
Support and Coaching:
- Support other Product Owners in defining, writing, and prioritizing their product backlogs.
- Provide methodological and operational support for daily product management activities.
- Promote the sharing of experiences and skill development among Product Owners in the organization.
- Support Product Owners in managing stakeholder relationships and achieving customer satisfaction.
Coordination and Alignment:
- Ensure consistency and alignment of your product backlog with organizational priorities.
- Facilitate communication between Product Owners, development teams, and stakeholders.
- Participate in the definition and updating of the organizational portfolio.
- Ensure alignment with concepts and methodologies implemented by the project office.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone with:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, agile methodology, continuous improvement, project management, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Product Owner within the last 5 years, ideally in a mentoring role.
- Strong command of Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban).
Assets:
- Undergraduate degree in computer science or a relevant discipline recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education (equivalency accepted as per government standards).
- Product Owner certification (e.g., PSPO I) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Agile management tools (Atlassian Suite).
- Knowledge of communication and collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, Miro).
- Understanding of product management principles and user story writing techniques.
- Experience collaborating closely with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure value delivery.
Note: Bilingualism in French and English is required for this position due to the nature of the role having interactions with National & Global clients and project teams.
Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $175,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
