What will your typical day look like?

As an Accountant, you will carry out tasks required to complete compilation and review engagements, prepare financial statements, complete all the necessary regulatory reports, carry out bookkeeping activities and prepare corporate and/or personal income tax returns and other tax compliance slips. You will also identify technical issues and communicate with engagement leaders, draft letters of recommendations, work with accounting software (TaxPrep, Caseware) and provide support to clients, respond to client queries and complete other related duties, as required.

Deloitte's Accounting Services Group (ASG) group has the feel of a small firm, but has all the advantages of being part of one of Canada's leading professional services firms. Our clients range in size and include some of Canada's top private companies. You will focus on serving privately owned clients and will have an opportunity to work with a variety of business sectors including manufacturing, agriculture, retail/service, construction, real-estate, transportation, professional services and others. Engagements will vary from stand-alone companies to large corporate groups.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who:

  • 3 years of relevant experience and responsibility with a full set of accounting records or an accounting diploma, or equivalent
  • Possess good understanding of accounting principles and possess basic accounting skills and knowledge of tax compliance
  • Working knowledge of accounting software and Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English
