We are looking for professionals who are looking to join a high-performing, priority growth area for Deloitte, who will contribute with strong problem-solving skills, a breadth of knowledge with respect to the technical and operational financial reporting, and strong inter-personal skills. 

 

What will your typical day look like?

 

As a Senior Consultant in the Assurance group, you will:

  • Review and contribute to the planning and execution of projects
  • Contribute to business development
  • Participate in interviews and workshops with finance functions;
  • Document processes, interviews and workshops;
  • Write reports;
  • Develop relationships with clients, listen to them and understand their challenges, and be able to provide appropriate solutions;
  • Guide clients through the various stages in a finance function transformation;
  • Work directly at our clients in various accounting roles.
  • Opportunities may arise to serve clients and / or support local office teams around the country and / or internationally
  • Contribute to market and eminence initiatives, including development of new service offerings and marketing campaigns within the practice
  • Develop and lead timely communications - both internal and external - relevant to our professionals and clients
  • Mentor and develop teams of advisory resources

About the team

 

The  Assurance group is rapidly expanding.  Joining our team will provide you with opportunities to develop and hone skills, expand your internal and external networks and be a key member in the growth of our practice.
Our Assurance group is composed of the Accounting Operations Advisory and Accounting & Reporting Advisory teams, which focus on providing solutions for technical accounting issues as well as enabling CFOs and their Finance teams for success. As an Analyst, you would be part of both these teams to gain unique and broad experiences.
Our Accounting Operations Advisory Team, focuses on applying our deep accounting and operations expertise to better the financial reporting cycle for our clients. Our core services are pillared in the betterment of financial reporting in conducting accounting diagnostics around policies/procedures, internal financial controls, accounting systems, talent and technical accounting.
 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

You are someone who:

  • CPA or CA designations or working on completing them with 2-5 years of experience
  • Must have experience working in a finance role or in providing consulting and advisory services to finance functions
  • Must possess strong technical accounting skills (GAAP, control certification, securities and regulatory, assurance) and experience in and knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, Public Sector Standards, internal controls and risk assessment
  • Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership
  • Experience in the public sector, real estate, supporting Indigenous organizations or the financial services industry is considered an asset
  • Capacity to think about requirements from a strategic perspective (options available, pros / cons or different options)
  • Additional expertise in one or more of the following areas considered an asset: Government and public services or working with Indigenous communities
  • Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
