Our Burlington Tax practice requires an experienced Indirect Tax Recovery professional. As a Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the organization and delivery of Indirect Tax Recovery services to clients. Utilizing your existing knowledge in indirect tax recovery, you will work with a team of professionals to provide services to a number of diverse clients. 

Daily responsibilities will include: 

  • Meeting with clients to lead recovery projects and identify and discuss opportunities pertaining to Indirect tax recovery
  • Leading onsite and offsite engagement team through the recovery process
  • Working with client data and client files to identify recovery opportunities
  • Liaison with tax authorities on refund claims and opportunities
  • Preparing refund claims and reports to clients related to indirect tax recovery
  • Proactively take relevant and valuable tax ideas to our clients to grow the practice
  • Build relationships at a senior level and be seen as a trusted business advisor  
  • Actively mentor and coach team members to their highest potential
  • Create a learning environment through leadership

External Posting Qualifications

  • Completed undergraduate degree. Preference given to candidates who also have completed a professional accounting designation.
  • Excellent data handling skills using Excel and Microsoft Access
  • Senior level accounting skills
  • Minimum 2-3 years of indirect tax experience
  • Direct experience dealing with tax agencies an asset
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities
  • Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations, project profitability and team leadership
  • Ability to build & maintain internal and external relationships
  • Ability to anticipate the long term impact of all decisions and take a broad approach to problem solving
  • Execute a client service plan on complex engagements and work closely with the Partners in exceeding our client's expectations while identifying and mitigating business risks associated with projects


Canadian travel required, occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments.
