What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior Manager in Indirect Tax, you will lead engagements for government and public sector clients, providing strategic tax advice and managing compliance projects. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, mentor teams, and contribute to Deloitte’s thought leadership in the public sector indirect tax space.

You will work as part of a team of forward-thinking professionals with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our public sector clients generate cash saving refunds and solve their complex GST/HST issues from strategy to execution.

Your role will be to build and develop lasting relationships with our clients, being seen as a trusted advisor and assist them with their indirect tax needs. Specific responsibilities include leading client engagements, research and implementation of an ITC allocation methodology and section 211, user-fee reviews, managing tax audits and disputes, preparing advisory reports, letters, memoranda and presentations on complex topics.

You will also be expected to coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning while adopting the firm’s apprenticeship training model.

About the team

Currently we are seeking a Senior Manager for our Indirect Tax Recovery group. Our Indirect Tax team helps clients navigate complex tax environments, optimize compliance, and implement innovative strategies. We work with public sector organizations to deliver solutions that drive efficiency and transparency.

You are someone with:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in indirect tax, with a strong focus on the public sector.
  • Proven experience managing client engagements and leading project teams.
  • Strong knowledge of the GST/HST legislation and public sector.
  • Ability to travel to client sites will be required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A completed accounting designation (CPA) would be an asset.
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $116,000 - $215,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
